After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Dennis continued his service to the nation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Food Safety Inspector, retiring in 2016 after more than 30 years of dedication.
Dennis was a source of warmth and kindness to all who knew him. His life reflected love, compassion, and steadfast faith. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He is remembered for the way he lived and the lasting impact he made. He is also remembered for his generosity in his hospitality, as he would always welcome others into the house for meals. He was an active member of the church and a well-traveled individual who loved being on the water.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Reisen; his children Bethany Kelly, Angela Blair, and Brian Reisen; and his brother William “Billy” Reisen Jr. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Patrick Kelly, Brenden Kelly, Aiden Kelly, Brooks Reisen, and Olivia Reisen. His nieces and nephews—Matthew Reisen, Mary Costello, Katie Costello, Emily Costello, DJ Costello, and Lee Costello—also hold his memory close.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Angelina and William “Bill” Reisen Sr.; his mother-in-law, Mary Costello; his sister-in-law, Carol Costello; and his nephew, Thomas Costello.
Though his physical presence is gone, Dennis’s spirit endures in the lives he influenced. May his memory continue to guide and inspire.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by a gathering at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, an organization Dennis felt strongly about.
