Mrs. Ethel M. Bannister, age 83, of Tyrone, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. She was born on March 31, 1929 in East Point, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lanier Bannister, Sr. the former Mayor of East Point. She was a member of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church then moved to First Baptist Church of East Point where she was a member of the Choir and the Jubileers. She worked for Fulton County in the Grounds Dept. and was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Lanier Bannister, Jr. and wife, Stephanie Smith Bannister; grandchildren, Justin Lanier Bannister and Ryan Joseph Bannister; and a sister, Sylvia Wheeler.
Services for Mrs. Ethel M. Bannister will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at First Baptist Church in East Point, GA. She will lay in state for one hour prior to the services. Entombment will be at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens in Fairburn, GA. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
