We were so very sorry to learn of Ann's passing. In an attempt to reconnect with Ann we learned of this sad news. We came to know Ann while staying at the B&B in Bristol, we always referred to it as "The Murph", and my wife used to say it was like staying at a favorite aunt's home. We would stay with Ann when we had a chance to attend Notre Dame football games; initially we would bring our young sons, as years progressed our oldest became a student at ND, and our stays were regular occurrences during his years in South Bend. When we dropped him off his first year and because  we lived 650 miles away in upstate New York,  it was reassuring to us knowing if needed,  Ann was nearby in Bristol. We send Ann's loved ones prayers of peace and strength, and hope good memories are a comfort. 

Ann was a remarkable woman who was strong in faith and loved her family! I worked for  Ann at the bed and breakfast in Bristol In. I  found out a day ago she passed,  from a  friend who did her flower beds and lawn. I learned a lot from her and appreciated her art in cooking and serving and remember well the celebration around my 60th  birthday when she did a  special tea that included  my daughter and daughter in laws, along with   other  teas we did. We just found out today that Ann passed...we were so saddened by this news. She was a special lady and will be remembered with love. We miss her in Bristol but are glad  that she got to spend these last few years near her family in Georgia. That made her so happy!!

Ann and I became neighbors in Bristol, In, when she bought the Bed & Breakfast down the street from me.  Over the years as we got to know each other, we were amazed to learn we were both from Des Moines, Iowa, we went to high school the same time, however different high schools and the strangest thing was for years we rode our horses in the same park for maybe 4-6 yrs.  I’m sure we pasted on the trails many times, but we were from different stables and never had a chance to meet.  We both were amazed that we ended up in Bristol together.  Bristol missed Ann when she moved, but we were able to keep up with her on Facebook. She will be missed.

Ann was my oldest cousin, we are 12 years apart.  I remember good times on Elder Lane where she grew up and times of heartbreak when her father died only a year after she graduated from High School.  When my father had his heart attack and I was a scared little kid, I bunked in with her and she reassured me having gone through something similar just a few years before.  The Eaton girls always pulled together when the chips were down.  I remember playing in her barn when she lived on a farm/acreage and how she loved horses all her life.  I remember visiting her and Helen Mae at Murphy's Guest House in Bristol and how proud she was of the rooms named after her granddaughters.  She also became a huge Notre Dame fan during that time.  I'm sorry Ann, I never got down to Georgia to visit, I guess I'll have to see you later because I know where you are, you lived your faith every day.            Rick Peterson - Papillion NE
