Iris June Westcott Ward, 87, of Fayetteville, GA went home to our Savior on December 15, 2023, after living her life to the fullest. She was born on April 24, 1936 in White Bluff, TN to the late Pleasant Leondais Westcott and Minerva Estelle Joslin.
June’s greatest passion was being a Mom, Granny, and Great-Granny. She loved GOD and shared HIM with her children. She enjoyed caring for, cooking for, and sewing for her family. She found joy spending time with her husband doing for others. June adventured with Harry to Canada where they completed their family and made great friends. She supported her husband and children in Little League Baseball. Her team - family, became Canada’s Little League Family of the year. She loved people and never met a stranger. Throwing and attending parties brought her great delight. Even in advanced Dementia, she was kind, prayed, threw kisses, and never failed to give thanks for returned kindness.
June worked for Sears Roebuck in Atlanta, GA. She continued her retail career as an interior decorator with Sears in Mississauga, Canada. When the family returned to Atlanta, she worked for Target. She retired and became very involved at the local Senior Center. June competed in the Senior Olympics, where she earned a gold medal.
June's loving husband, of 54 plus years, Harry L. Ward precedes her in death. Her parents and her siblings, Margaret and husband, Robert Burns (who were like parents to her), Raymond Westcott, Roy Westcott, and Bill Westcott also precede her in death.
June is survived by her daughter, Indie and husband, David Smith of Peachtree City; son, Jeffrey and wife, Sue-Ann Ward of Oakville; son, Timothy and wife, Lisa Ward of Oakville; son, David Ward of Brampton; and her daughter, Linda Ward of Hochston; grandchildren, Danielle and husband, Justin Jackson, Michael and wife, Jennifer Ward, Justine and husband, Adam Luchini, Spencer Ward, Zachary and wife, Brittany Ward, Justin and wife, Rachel Smith, Emma Freeman, and Braeden Ward; great-grandchildren; Maya DeJonge, Evan, and Dylan Jackson, Juniper and Hazel Ward, Lucy and Harry Ward, Brighid, Evelyn, Henrik and Fiona Ward, Solaire Smith; and by her brother, Clifford Westcott.
In her last days, she still brought a smile to those who cared for her. The family gives thanks to those who loved and cared for her at Heartis of Fayetteville and Brightmoor Hospice.
