

James was a truck driver for 45 years. He enjoyed working on cars, camping and fishing, working in the yard, watching races and watching westerns. His greatest joy was his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Aaron and Clara Pitts; and one brother, Davey Lee Pitts; and two sisters, Carolyn Emerson and Mary Proctor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Inez Pitts; two daughters, Wanda Reavis (Lee) of McDonough, GA and Patricia McGregor (Eddie) of Senoia, GA; five grandchildren, Ashley McNeal (Ryan), Brandon Reavis (Tessa), Jake McGregor (Summer), Matthew McGregor, and Makayla McGregor; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte and David McNeal and Stevie McGregor; sisters, Lula Inez Pitts of Mableton, GA, Louise McAlister of Stockbridge, GA, Peggy Campbell of Huntsville, AL, Sylvia Fatjo of Rockledge, FL, and Janice Kelley of LaGrange, GA; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Moon Martin (Charlie), Linda Cowart (James), and Lynda Clary-Burke; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will have a visitation on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00am in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory in Peachtree City, GA with Pastor Rick Statham officiating. The interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA.
