James “Jim” Michael Spath, 70, of East Point, GA passed away suddenly on May 23, 2017. He was born in Atlanta, GA on April 10, 1947 to the late Francis Spath and Carita Martin Spath. He worked in Petroleum Equipment for over 40 years. In 2003 he established his own refrigeration company, Patriot Equipment Company. He loved his wife, his family, gardening, the mountains, and his cat, Junior.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Mitchell Spath; children, Chelley Young, Michael Spath, Christine Spath, Joseph Spath, Lindsey Nabors, and Lacey Nabors;
grandchildren, Michael Spath, Maxwell Young, Taylor Young, Daniel Spath, Mitchell Nabors, Nicolas Orduna, and Mabel Spath; great-grandchild, Leo Spath; his sister, Margie Spath Mills; and his brother-in-law, Terry Mitchell.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory in Peachtree City, GA on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 2:00pm. Pastor Ray Waters and Billy Hunter, his lifelong friend, will be officiating the service.
The family will hold a reception, at the funeral home, following the service.
