John J. Duncan

John Julian Duncan, age 89 passed away on April 21, 2020 at Tranquility at Cobb hospice care near his home in Mableton, Georgia following a lengthy illness. John Duncan was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Julian Judson Duncan and Sara Louise Deadwyler Duncan on February 3, 1931. John lived in many states over his lifetime, the last 40+ years in Georgia. He graduated from Emory University in 1953 with a Doctorate in Chemistry. He married Charlotte Marguerite Allen in 1953. Over the next 32 years John worked in many corporations in research & development as well as in executive positions. John continued to provide consulting services for many years afterwards.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Charlotte Marguerite Allen Duncan.

He is survived by his wife Anna Mae Duncan; his daughter Suzanne Elaine Bilbo and her husband John; daughter Lauren Duncan Colburn; his son Ian Allen Duncan; two granddaughters Heather Michelle Griswold and Sharyn Renee Bilbo; and two great grandchildren, Alicia and Jayden Griswold.

John’s ashes will be placed at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta, Georgia where he was a member.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to Peachtree Christian Church, 1580 Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30309.

A private family memorial and life celebration is being planned for a later date.
