Martha graduated from the New Haven State Teachers College and retired from a career of teaching elementary school in the Norwalk, CT school system. She served in the American Red Cross Ambulance Service during WWII. She lived most of her years in Norwalk and then moved to Nashua and Hudson, NH before moving to Fayetteville.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John A. and survived by daughter Jonsie Pollock and husband Bryan of Peachtree City; son Frederick and wife Sharon of Hudson; grandchildren Shanon Woolf and husband Tom of Kingsland, GA; Dana Black and husband Nathan of Fayetteville; Erick and wife Katherine of Altus, OK; Kiley Kinsey and husband Jon of Las Vegas, NV; great grandchildren Riley and Donavan Black and Audrey and Evan Brough; brother (predeceased) Walter W. Hershel and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, GA on Monday April 7, 2014 at 11:00am. Donations of remembrance to Martha may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
