May Estelle Spivey, age 95, of Dekalb, TX (Formerly of Jonesboro, GA), passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. She was born to Charles Booker Thomas, Sr. and Nina Colquitt Thomas on March 5, 1916 in Crawford, GA. She retired from the Risk Management Department of Coca-Cola Bottling in Atlanta, GA. She was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Jim Spivey, Sr.; son, William Jim Spivey, Jr.; granddaughter, Erica Lynn Spivey; sister, Elizabeth Thomas; and brother, Charles Booker Thomas, Jr. Estelle is survived by son, Charles Colquitt Spivey; daughter, Nina Plumlee; sister, Annie Lou Lewis and brother-in-law, W.H. Lewis, and sister, Sarah Wood; numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1:00pm in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA with Rev. Irvin Paerre officiating. The visitation will be on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta.
