Nancy Anthony Merritt

Nancy Elaine Merritt, 84, of Peachtree City, Georgia, passed away January 31, 2020. Nancy was born on January 3, 1936 in New Britain, Connecticut. She graduated from General Moultrie High School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Nancy began her professional career at the phone company but spent most of it in banking, both in Gainesville, Florida and Peachtree City, Georgia, where she was fortunate to develop many lifetime friendships.

Following a short retirement, Nancy began volunteering and then working full-time for Southland Health and Rehabilitation, where she bonded with not only the staff but also the residents and their families.

Nancy was a devoted mother and loyal friend. More than anything, she loved working in her yard and tending to her garden. If you were ever lucky enough to see her yard, you know that was truly her passion.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Hamon, and son-in-law, Chris Hamon, of Marietta, Georgia; and her aunt, Florence Kragiel, of New Britain, Connecticut.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Meals on Wheels through Fayette Senior Services or to their charity of choice.

There will be a celebration of life held for her on March 7, 2020, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at The Loft at Due South in Peachtree City, Georgia. All are welcome to join us for her celebration of life.
