Patricia Ann Roman

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Roman née Tyacke, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, who passed away July 24, 2026, after a long battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband Jorge Roman; daughter, Laura Roman; grandson, Caleb Reeder; sisters, Sharron Motlagh and Colleen Baez; brother, Craig Tyacke; and half-brother, Scott Tyacke.

Pat was born on January 10, 1946. She was the oldest of four children of Roland (Ron) and Catherine (Kit) Tyacke. Although she was born in Waterloo, IA, Milwaukee, WI is where she claimed as home. Living between the two for most of her childhood.

In her adulthood, she developed a love of traveling. A love that connected her to her greatest love, soulmate, and husband. When the two met, traveling was something they both desired greatly. For fifty-two years, they traveled the world and shared many grand adventures, and some less grand adventures.

It was wildly rumored “European Vacation” was actually based on a family trip they took with their daughter, Laura. However, this was entirely impossible as their trip was after the film released. A true story is that they once rode hollowed out tree canoes along the Amazon then bribed a shaman to put a spell on one of Jorge’s cousins to get married.

Seeing the world together was what she truly loved, as was dancing. Jorge and Pat met dancing, and they were always the first and last out on any dance floor. One of their favorite parts about cruising was the ability to travel, dance and just enjoy themselves. Through the years, this became one of their favorite ways to see the world.

Whilst she had several different hobbies in her life, it was gardening she truly loved. Pat grew up on farms and always had a green thumb. She loved her garden and spent her free time caring for it. She tried her hand at various flowers but leaned towards exotic and complicated blossoms. She went barefoot and liked the feeling of soil under her toes, and her hands churning the soil. Watching birds, especially the hummingbirds, around her garden brought her much peace. Especially in her final days.

Of all the things she loved, it was family she loved most. She was supportive, loving and tough when she needed to be. She was a true matriarch to her very large and extended family. A role she loved, and which brought her great joy.

Her greatest wish when she was diagnosed was to make it to her grandson, Caleb’s high school graduation. She was so happy to be able to sit and watch him and was immensely proud of his accomplishments.

We will be celebrating the beautiful life and woman she was with her version of an Irish Wake. She wanted people to gather, connect, trade stories, share their love and yes, eat and even have a drink for her. She wanted a joyous and happy celebration. Please join us in celebrating the incredible woman she was.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Flat Creek Country Club, 100 Flat Creek Rd, Peachtree City, GA 30269.
