She was a firm believer that you must pursue your dreams and get a good education. It was only later in life that she had the opportunity to go back to school and get her Bachelor of Nursing Degree. She was a nurse in the United States Army for 18+ years and retired as a 2nd Lieutenant. With over 30 years of nursing in total, she took care of many people over the years. This list even includes her own beloved mother whom she was taking care of, as one of her principal caregivers, as she battles with Alzheimer’s. Queen was also proud to be a breast cancer survivor.
She was an avid shopper and loved the QVC shopping network. She loved playing cards of all kinds but her passion was going to the casinos. The energy of the casinos matched the excitement of the way she lived her life! She was an excellent cook, a skill she learned from her mother, and often expressed her love for her family through a great meal. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She touched many lives over her time here on this earth and she will be missed by them all.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and lovingly devoted husband of over 46 years, Jimmy L. Holiday; her son, Bernard L. Holiday and daughter-in-law, Veronique; her daughter, Trellis Usher; her grandchildren, Brittany Turner, Daniel Mays, Dajanique Carter, and Dominique Kendrick; her parents, Queen Ann Usher Rackley and David Lee Rackley; her brother, Rodney Usher and sister-in-law, Chillonda; and her sister, Denise Stone.
