Born on January 30, 1970, Rick entered the world with a heart of joy and a thrill for adventure. He lived life to the fullest and always faced challenges with a smile. He was a natural comedian and never met a stranger. His greatest joys in life were having his toes in the sand, singing his heart out, and dancing the night away.
After receiving the diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in January 2020, he devoted his remaining days to serving Jesus Christ and made every effort to share God’s love with the world.
Rick is survived by his children, Amber, LeAnna, Caleb, and Christopher; his stepchildren, Michael, Halley, Courtney, and Morgan; his parents, Sharon and Cliff Bishop; Wayne and Sherry Kinnett; his siblings, Missy and Donnie White; Vance and Tracey Bishop; his grandchildren, Ayden, Kylie, and Madelyn; and long-time friend, Tammy Kinnett. Rick also leaves behind numerous friends and extended family.
In honor and memory, friends and family are encouraged to live out Rick’s words:
“Squeeze life, love life, and know that God is over everything.”
A private family memorial will be held in St. Augustine, FL. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Rick requested donations be made to Southwest Christian Care in honor of the nurses and staff who loved and served him well (7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA, 30291).
