Ronald Hoyt Hardeman (Papa)

The husband and father we knew was a great provider and protector. He loved his family and we love and miss him dearly.

Papa’s favorite things to do included sitting on the back deck puffing a cigar while calling and talking to family and friends or as a true foodie, eating food from Mike and C’s Family Sports Grill.

Papa served his country for 6 years in the Army Reserves, worked for 41 years at Law Engineering, and after retiring from Law Engineering, worked another 14 years at the Douglas County Courthouse.

Papa was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Dale; father, Hubert Hardeman; step-father, James Dale; and niece, Pamela Meyers.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rosemary; children, Stephanie Hardeman (Angie Elliott), Shawne Grogan (Jeff), and Ronnie Hardeman (Mandie); grandchildren, Olivia Hardeman, Lily Grogan, Avery Hardeman, Kevin Elliott (Tiffany) and Katie Elliott; great-grandchildren, Kyndall Lee and Declan Elliott; sister, Martha Myers; and nieces, Jennifer Williams (Steve) and Haley Rendon (Colten).

The family would like to thank Mike and C’s Family Sports Grill for treating Papa like family. We would also like to thank Fresenius Kidney Care in Fayetteville and Sharpsburg for taking such good care of Papa.

A Celebration of Life will be held for him at a later date.
