Sara Lou Munday

A graduate of Phillips University in Enid, OK and later, The University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK, Sara served on the Board of Directors for the Central Alabama Lung Association, she was a breast cancer survivor, and a devoted military spouse. She married Major James William Munday on December 9, 1954, and they were married until his death in 1972. After the death of her husband, Sara remarried in 1972 to Bill Vogel, and they were married until his death in 1982. From 1990 until 1995, she was together with John Woodley until his death in 1995. Many years went by until the Lord brought Jack Sheppard into Sara's life. They were married in 2008, and were married until Jack's death in 2013.

Sara was preceded in death by her father, The Honorable Luther Wells, her mother, Nellie Wells; her sister, Mary Ann Evers; her brother, Robert Wells, and her husbands: Major James William Munday, Bill Vogel, and Jack Sheppard.

Sara is survived by her three children, Robert (Sheila) Munday, James (Cassandra) Munday, and Mary (Mike) Munday Fuller; nine grandchildren: Jonathan Munday, Christopher (Kala) Munday, James William (Kelsey) Munday II, Justin (Shannon) Munday, Jay Munday, Scott (Julie) Fuller, Sharon (Ryan) Fuller Patrick, Stephanie (Andrew) Fuller Johnson, and Seth (Sara) Fuller, and 13 great-grandchildren: Carson, Tanner, Cailin, Aidan, Eleanor, Sean, Mia, Riley Jo, Micah, Samuel, Brooklyn, Emily, and Adelyn; with two more on the way. Sara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral for Sara will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Line Creek Baptist Church, 1488 Bob Smith Rd, Sharpsburg, GA 30277.
