

Sue was a 1st runner up in the Miss Maryland pageant and participated in the Miss America pageant. She was a participant in the dedication of numerous new buildings and facilities at the time, including the new Baltimore airport, where she got to meet President Truman. She was a member of the Aurora Community Church in Aurora, Ohio were she sang in the choir; along with writing, editing, and publishing the weekly church bulletin. Sue also sold real estate and served on the democratic committee for Portage County, Ohio.
Sue was preceded in death by the love of her life, her beloved husband of 58 years, Dewey F. Patterson, Jr.; her parents; brothers Lawrence D. Pullen and Joseph S. Wilson; and her sister, Gail Davenport (Pullen) Short.
Sue is survived by her two sons, Dewey F. Patterson III (Brenda) of Peachtree City, Georgia and David L. Patterson (Janet) of Annapolis, Maryland; daughter Elizabeth L. Slechta (James) of Mantua, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; and her brother, Ronald A. Pullen (Joyce) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in her honor.
