She was raised in the Grove Park Neighborhood of Atlanta where she met her lifelong friends. Later she moved to Mableton, GA and attended South Cobb High School.
Teresa spent her career as a bookkeeper for various restaurants in Atlanta and later for several aviation businesses, one of which is where she met her husband of 42 years, Cam Lummus. Together they worked in aviation around the country from Florida to Utah, Mississippi and back to Georgia. Her happiest work life was when she moved to Columbus, GA and began a career in the insurance arena. This took her to AFLAC where she helped start Flex One, which took her around the country, and she met and befriended so many. While she retired from AFLAC, it never left her heart.
She was a die-hard Columbus Cottonmouth hockey fan and followed them even when she could not attend a game.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Cam; one sister, Gayle Hobbs of Dallas, GA; as well as her nieces and nephews that she adored.
The family will receive visitors at their home on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
A private burial for Teresa will be held at a later date.
