Mrs. Thelma Williams Wall, a retired teacher of New Orleans Public School System died on June 6, 2018 in Sharpsburg, GA. A long-time resident of New Orleans, LA until Hurricane Katrina. She then lived briefly in Collierville and Cordova, TN and finally relocated to Sharpsburg, GA. She attended school in New Orleans starting in eighth grade and graduated from Mc Donough Thirty Five High School and later graduated from Valena C. Jones Normal and Practice for Teacher Training. She earned a Bachelors Degree from Xavier University and a Masters of Education Degree from University of New Orleans. As an elementary teacher she worked for thirty four years including seven years as a Reading Clinician.
She was an active member of St Gabriel the Archangel Church where she served as a lector, an office assistant, member of the Altar Society and the Senior Citizens Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Andrew and Susie Pittman Williams, her husband, Jasper C Wall, two brothers, Clarence and Edwin Williams, three sisters Augustine Camp, Elverda Windsor and Gladys Stevens, sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams.
Survivors are a beloved son and his wife, Darryl C Wall and Pamela S Wall, grandson, Micahla Williams and a host of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family also priests and parishioners of St Gabriel Church, LA Retired Teachers Assoc., The Jug Buddies and Jugetts Social Club are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on June 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St Gabriel the Archangel Church, 4700 Pineda St. New Orleans, LA 70126.
