He was born May 3, 1927, in Asheville, NC, a son of the late Augustus Kendall Wilson and Jessie Alley Wilson.
A.K. proudly served our country with the U.S. Navy for more than 30 years. His allegiance was unfailing and he retired only due to mandatory age requirements. That same dedication and strong work ethic carried over into his civilian career and he retired from Southcentral Bell/AT&T after serving for 33 years as an engineer.
A.K. truly believed in living life to its fullest and made the most of every opportunity, spending much time with family and friends. He also was an avid collector of antique clocks and watches which he enjoyed repairing and restoring.
In addition to his parents, A.K. was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Theresa M. Wilson; sons, Jeffrey and Kendall Wilson; and sister, Toka Rinehardt.
Survivors include daughter Patricia Henderson and husband William; grandsons, Robert King and wife Julie, and Richard Henderson and wife Destiney; and great-grandchildren, Christian King, Austyn Burrell, Allyssa Henderson, and Bailey White.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.
