Mrs. Alma Jean McBeath, the daughter of the late Ferman Weathers Sr., and Murlee (Richmond) Weathers was born on December 6, 1937, in Leake County, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Leake County Agricultural High School. Alma Jean accepted Christ at an early age at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Grove, Mississippi.
Alma Jean was united in Holy Matrimony on August 27, 1958, to Leo McBeath. To their union four children were born. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose presence will be missed. Alma Jean enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, baking and cooking, sharing recipes, spending time with family and friends, watching television (SOAPs) and going to church. She was soft spoken, kind, caring, polite and avoided confrontation, but stood up for what she thought was “RIGHT”. She genuinely saw the good in everyone and had a love for family, friends and anyone she happened to be acquainted with. As a mother and grandmother she spoke volumes as she taught us all to live a life of honesty and integrity.
Mrs. Alma Jean McBeath departed this life on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the age of eighty-seven years, seven months and eighteen days. Choices
From inception to our last breath we are impacted by choices; many we make for ourselves and some made by others.
The impact of choices (stories) can be told via our physical bodies and its endurance of pain, injuries, scars, lameness and sometimes disfigurement. The most impactful stories told are from choices of others.
If you accept these statements as having merits, let's ponder what would be the impact of choices if we had to live with only our choices? Envision your body and mental state had it only endured your own choices.
Does it appear to
Be stronger, healthier and scare free?
Never have felt frustrated, stressed, hurt or sad?
Never have inflicted pain upon it or made choices that led to pain?
Now reflect on our own mother’s own choices and how they impacted you personally.
Did your envisioned body and mental state change? Are you thankful this vision is not your reality?
Did you pray for a life that is impacted by the choices of others; our mother?
For those who were fortunate to have had our mother impact their lives, it is our hope that you carry forward the memories and if it is more comforting, an envisioned physical body had her life’s journey been of her own choices.
We personally will always envision a strong, beautiful, statuettes women that was an exceptional person, sister, friend, wife, confidante, influencer and mother.
We will believe that when God made our mother, He retired the mold, for we have never met anyone so sweet but yet firm, so loving, so joyful, so compassionate, so strong, so resilient, so determined, so dedicated to her family and so grounded in her faith.
During her final days and hours, she chose to rely more and more on her faith as we witnessed her calling out to her Lord.
We believe her Lord and our Heavenly Father answered her please and chose to give her a place in His kingdom based on her choices alone.
We all should find comfort in knowing that the choices made by your friend, sister, wife, confidante, sister in Christ and our mother landed her in heaven to watch over us and guide us in our choices, in hope that we all can meet and be together again in heaven.
