Ashley was born to James and Janice Sudduth Downs on May 8, 1982, and resided in Rankin County her entire life.
Ashley was a native of Pearl, Mississippi, and a member of the Pearl High School Class of 2001. She was a varsity cheerleader, member of First Priority Bible Club, Key Club, Future Educators of America, and Beta Club. She attended Delta State University and Hinds Community College, and had a career as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
Ashley adored her children, Abbigail and Tyler, who were her pride and joy. She especially enjoyed being their "soccer mom", watching them play club and school soccer, and the camaraderie she shared with soccer friends and families.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Sudduth Downs, and her grandparents, J.T. and Ruby Lee Sudduth of Black Hawk, and Earl and Gladys Downs of Pearl.
She leaves behind her daughter, Abbi, her son, Tyler, and their father, Chance Hornke; her father, James "Jimmy" Downs (Bea); brothers, Jamie Downs, Justin Mason (Rachel), Jason Downs, and Santi Diosa; sister, Valentina Diosa; and nephew, Andrew Downs, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Private Family Memorial Services will be officiated by Dr. Jason Bird, pastor of McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church and Pearl United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, Ashley's family requests donations to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children or to your favorite charity.
