Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Barbara was an active member of Highland Baptist Church in Jackson, where her deep love for gospel music shone through. She found great joy in singing as part of the church choir, lifting her voice in praise and inspiring those around her.
Barbara was truly the heart and matriarch of her family. She found her greatest joy in bringing everyone together in her home, where she enjoyed cooking and caring for those she held dear. Her family was her greatest priority, and her dedication to family guided her in supporting her brothers as their caregiver in later life.
Barbara dedicated her career to serving as an educator in multiple school systems across Mississippi, and her favorite pastime was reading, reflecting her lifelong love of learning.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Giger.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Sullivan (Stanley); sons, Rodney Ross (Becky), and Terry Giger (Alice); grandchildren, Alicia Giger, Jamie Sanders, Cliff Ross, Emily Sullivan, Justin Ross, Mandy Huff, Leah Watkins, and Aubrey Khan; and 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church in Jackson.
