Mrs. Barbara Jean McDonald Reis went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Baptist Hospital. Barbara was born in Brandon, MS on December 27, 1949 and attended Florence High School. Barbara will be remembered as a selfless, loving, hardworking wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was always smiling and caring for others. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She loved her Lord and wanted everyone she met to know Him. She was a great Christian lady who instilled in her children and family those values. Barbara loved serving in her church at Hickory Ridge by rocking babies, working security, and various other tasks but mostly loving on others and praying for them. Barbara worked as a Rankin County School bus driver for over 30 years and was a teacher assistant for some of those as well. She loved her kids on her bus and took pride in her work.
Barbara is preceded in death by her Daddy, Johnny Sanders McDonald. Barbara is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 52 years Charles Edward Reis; beloved fur baby Lillie Grace Reis; daughter Michelle Bounds of Brandon, MS; son, Brad Reis (Regina) of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Carly and Courtney Bounds, Jacob Reis, and Alex Robinson; great granddaughter Melody Sims; mother, Ramona McDonald, sisters; Kathy Bomer, Johnnie Mae Harrison (Ken)nephews; Dustin Harrison( Hannah Vinson) and John David Harrison (Olivia), Mark Reis (Emily) nieces Maxie Ball (Blake), Julie Reis and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 2 pm Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence with interment following in Florence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:30pm until 8 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022 and 1pm until 2pm on Sunday March 20, 2022 also at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church.
