

She was born May 4, 1971, in Jackson. She was raised in Pearl and subsequently settled there. Gayle graduated from Pearl High School in 1989 where she played flute in the Pearl Pirate Band. Some of her fondest memories were made during her time with the band.
Gayle worked for the Mississippi State Hospital for almost 28 years. She had the opportunity to work in several departments before retiring.
Gayle treasure her family and friends. She was very close to her mother, father, and sister. She loved to brag on her three nephews and was so proud of them.
She had a great appreciation for music, movies, history, and trivia. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Gayle will be forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her parents, William Darrell Hicks, Jr. and Linda Bell Hicks; sister, Amy Hicks King; nephews, Jeremy King, Elijah King, and Isaiah King; and many friends.
Gayle's family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Memorial services will follow at 7:00pm.
