Rev. Bevin Wayne Long

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Rev. Long was born Monday, February 16, 1942 in Stonewall, Mississippi, a son of the late Bevin Austin Long and Delma Luberta House Long. He was a graduate of West Point High School and Mississippi State. When he was called to the ministry he attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

During his ministry, Rev. Long pastored several churches including Bethesda Baptist Church in Crawford, First Baptist Church in Lambert, Pearson Baptist Church in Pearl and Melrose Baptist Church in Bentonia. He also retired from Southern Care Hospice in Clinton.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Blakenship Long; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Chris Brogdon; and grandson, Ryan Landin Brogdon.
