Billie was truly the queen of hospitality. Her home was open to family and friends, and she was always ready with snacks or a meal for all visitors. Billie was the life of the party and her innate ability to engage others ensured that she never met a stranger.
Billie’s career led her down many paths but each position of employment carried a connective thread- service to others. She provided excellent customer service during her years at Gayfer’s Department Store and the Redwood Inn, lovingly cared for children during her tenure with Parkway Baptist Church, and endeavored to provide comfort and peace to each family she served during her more than 20 years as a funeral service assistant with Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home.
Billie’s commitment to serving others carried over into her volunteer work, which included 20 years of service with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for which she served as president in the early 2000’s.
In her free time Billie enjoyed dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Robert “Bob” Burke.
She is survived by sons, Mark Warren (Jan), and Michael Warren (Sharon); daughters, Kimberly Wolf (Ricky), and Darlene Warren; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
