Billy Dekoven Puckett

He was born in Martinsville, MS on January 3, 1936. In 1956 he graduated from Puckett High School. At the age of 17 he enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve on November 15, 1953, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal on November 14, 1961. He drove a bus for Trailways for 20 years after his discharge from the Marines.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Puckett; parents, Carey Estus Puckett and Lydia Ree Cooper Puckett; and brothers, Private First Class James Daniel Puckett and Carey Dale Puckett.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Nellie Puckett; his loving daughters, Elizabeth Felks, Lenora Puckett Berry, Joyce Puckett Owen and Joan Puckett Fortenberry; sons-in-law, Russell Berry, Sr. and John Fortenberry; grandchildren, Lydia Berry, Russell Berry, Jr., Sergeant Walter Owen and wife, Nicki Bowden Owen, Matthew Dekoven Owen, Jessica Owen, Abygail Owen, Kenneth Felks and Nikki Felks; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Owen and Jaxson Felks.

Graveside services will be 11:00am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Puckett.
