He was born on October 31, 1946…a Halloween baby!
He graduated Heidelburg High School in 1964. After high school, Billy joined the Air Force where he cultivated his trade of telecommunications engineering.
He met Martha Parker on a blind date and when he was home from the Air Force; they spent time together and eventually married on November 25, 1967. They lived in Savannah, GA until Billy finished his time in the military. They finally made their home in Pearl, MS in 1969 where they raised their children: Chris, Ginger, and Scott.
Billy was deeply involved in his children’s sports, often coaching them in baseball and football. He rarely missed their games and often made the long trips to support them. He was affectionately known to many of his children’s friends as “Coach Billy.” Some of his favorite moments & lessons taught were on the baseball diamond or at games, especially supporting the Atlanta Braves and the M-Braves of MS. He was also a proud “band parent” and took his job as the videographer for the marching band very seriously.
Billy was a business owner for a while and then moved into roles working for the State of Mississippi and later he finished his career before retiring at Harris Communications.
He was a family man and his children have lots of great childhood memories that involve him swimming, hunting, or just having fun with them.
