A graveside visitation will be held in the Edwards Cemetery in Edwards, MS at 10:00am, Tuesday, September 21, 2021. There will also be a graveside service immediately following at 11:00am. Pastor Billy Talbert will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Whitley, Gene Bland, Chip Whitley, Hunter Anderson, Zack Primeaux, Mike Carpenter, Joshua Reeves, and Mark Barnett.
Bobby was born in Jackson, MS on September 12, 1967 to Bobby Whitley Sr. and Sue Whitley. Bobby worked several jobs throughout his lifetime, most recently as a salesman at Mississippi Hardware where he retired in 2013. He was a member of Solid Rock Church in Vicksburg. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time on the water when he was able. He also loved watching sports, most notably football. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, New Orleans Saints, and the Ole Miss Rebels. He also enjoyed cooking. He was very supportive of his children and grandchildren and anything that they did. Bobby loved playing the Wii with his grandson, Nathaniel.
Bobby is preceded in death by his mother, Sue Whitley; his wife, Heidi Whitley; and his best friend Joey Reynolds.
He is survived by his father, Bobby Whitley Sr.; brother, Gene Bland (Donna Bland); children, Michael Whitley (Chelsie Whitley), Lauren Whitley, and Lynda Whitley; three grandsons, Nathaniel Tadeo, Christian Johnston, and Abel Whitley; and one niece Ericka Bland.
