Buford Allen Jones

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Monday, December 29, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence with interment to follow in the Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Jones was born Wednesday, December 27, 1939 in Greenville, Mississippi, a son of the late Mattie Mae Peterson Jones.

A true Christian, he was devoted to our Lord and his church family at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Florence. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was self-employed as a carpenter for more than 20 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Carolyn Jones.

Survivors include son, Timothy Jones; daughters, Regina Jones Bell and husband Craig and Anita Jones Purvis and husband Aaron; grandchildren, Savanna Bell, Rebecca Bell, Adam Purvis and Noah Purvis; brothers, Walter Jones, Oliver Jones and Raymond Jones; and sisters, Flora Bell Stewart and Earline Watson.
