Memories... It makes me laugh and cry to think of Carlon... There are memories from East Lisa Drive, from McLaurin Heights Baptist Church, from Pearl High School, and, most recently, (as we reconnected) working on my parents' house. He had helped me build or tear out, had worked on the yard, had set me up with a new mail box... Always, always, I remember he was funny-always laughing and trying to get laughs. I also remember he was a soul who felt deeply. He wanted everyone to feel they mattered. He no longer had desires for anything superficial. He wanted real relationships. I'll miss that. I'll miss his honesty and the joy he found in his work.
