Charlie Alvis Lewis Jr.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie A. Lewis and Ella Butler; wife of 68 years, Margaret Maddox Lewis; son, Alvis Wayne Lewis; son, Charles Terry Lewis and great-grandson William Lewis.

Charlie is survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Gentry of New Hebron; daughter, Scarlett "Coot" Lewis of Hazlehurst, formerly of Pearl; daughter, Bridget R. Lewis of Pearl; ten grandkids; fourteen great grandkids; a great-great grandchild and his always loving dog, Cookie.

Charlie proudly served in the United States Navy and Air Force. He retired from the US Postal Service as an expediter after 30 years. Charlie and his wife loved going camping with their kids and grandkids in state parks around the South, shopping for antiques and working in the yard.

Those closest to Charlie will remember his compassionate presence and someone that always put other's needs above his own. He leaves behind a profound legacy of love and devotion to his family.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm, Monday, July 20, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services will follow at 1:30pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
