Visitation will be 10:00-11:00am, Monday, February 18, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills memory Gardens.
She was born Mildred Christine McCool in Attala County, Mississippi on March 14, 1925, a daughter of the late George R. McCool and Ada C. Thornton McCool.
She retired from the Mississippi Department of Education.
Survivors include son, Frank Lassiter; daughter, Toni Layer; sisters, Billie McCool and Maxine Wilbourne; grandchildren, Matt Lassiter, Tony Lassiter, Melissa Rudiger and Leslie Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Meredith and Luke Jordan, Reese and Ryan Rudiger and Raleigh Lassiter.
