Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Dave was born in Bronx, New York on April 7, 1936. He often laughed and said as soon as he was old enough to walk, he left New York for Houston, Texas.
He grew up in Houston, TX attending San Jacinto High and the University of Houston until he went into the U.S. Army for 3 years. He served at Fort Monmouth, NJ and Redstone Arsenal, AL. When he got out of the Army in 1959, he settled in Hattiesburg, MS for a short time, where he met and married his wife, Norma.
Dave worked for RCA, Univac, and Wang as a computer engineer. He and Norma lived in New Orleans, LA, Pensacola, FL, and Glouster City, NJ, before settling in Pearl in 1967.
Dave was an avid bowler his whole life until Parkinson’s took control, and he and Norma were co-owners of Runway Bowling Lanes in Pearl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Pauline Bell.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Norma; children, Jason B. Bell and Shannon M. Bell; and grandchildren, Ryan, Mackenzie and Audrey.
