Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Friday, March 1, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Saturday, March 2, 2019, in the funeral home chapel with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
David was born February 28, 1951, in Sacramento, California, a son of the late Preston Rayner and Pauline Hester Rayner.
He retired from Illinois Central/Canadian National Railroad Co. after more than 40 years of faithful service. His hobbies included fishing and researching ancestry. David was passionate about health, and was an ardent supporter of the “Forks Over Knives” diet plan.
David’s favorite times were spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and he was determined that they have a better life. He lovingly spent time with them, doing their favorite activities, and encouraging them in regards to education and life decisions.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Elaine Rayner; daughters, Denise Madison, Valerie Akins, Michelle Ainsworth, and Melissa Warren; grandchildren, Lexus Akins, Chase Akins, Kimberly Pittman, Gamie Pittman, Billy Bynum, Kyleigh Dennis, Shalyn Warren, Jackson Warren, Wesley Warren, and Ariana Warren; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Chamblee, Steven Little, Kaidynn Akins, and Grayson Akins.
David will be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched.
