

Visitation will be 1:00-3:00pm, Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Brandon Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the church. Interment will be held in Brandon Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
David was born June 14, 1931, in Puckett. A 1950 graduate of Puckett High School, he also attended Hinds Junior College, Belhaven, Millsaps and graduated from Mississippi State with a degree in business administration.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in combat during the Korean War. David then served with the Reserves from 1954-1957. He joined the Mississippi National Guard in 1957, where he served for 41 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer CW4 in 1990.
David married Carolyn Long Williams in 1952, and they settled in Brandon in 1964 where they raised their family.
David was a former member of First Baptist Church of Brandon, and a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church. He volunteered at Ridgecrest Conference Center for more than 20 years, and was a member of the Pearl Lodge #23 F&AM of Jackson, the Rankin Civitans, Lions Club and Rankin Jaycees. David was also a founding member of the Mississippi Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and daughter, Theresa Adelle Williams.
Survivors include children, Michael David Williams (Ann), and Lynn Williams Means (Chris); grandchildren, Sess Means, Chase Means, and Miranda Roark; great-grandchild, Mari Turner Roark; brother, Eugie “Ross” Williams; and sister, Gloria Williams Marble.
