

Dixie was born on September 10, 1958 to Roy C. and Jane Perdue. After her graduation from Belhaven University, she taught school in Rankin County and Jackson. Dixie was an accomplished pianist and soloist at Pearson Baptist Church prior to her disability.
Dixie was preceded in death by her father Roy C. Perdue.
She is survived by her mother, Jane A. Perdue of Brandon; her daughter Jana Stanley (Aaron), grandchildren, Janie and Cate Stanley of Florence; two brothers, Michael Perdue (Lynne) of Hilo, Hawaii and Harry Perdue (Ginger) of Brandon; aunt, Louise Welborn of Laurel; niece Julie Puckett (Gary) of Brandon; nephew Clayton Perdue of Flowood; and numerous cousins.
Dixie and her lovely voice will be greatly missed by family and friends but I know she is singing in God’s Choir.
Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00pm today at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 10:00am, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Pearson Baptist Church in Pearl with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
