Dolores A. King

Dolores Ann Neuenfeld King, 78, of Brandon, passed from this life Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. A native of Gary, Indiana, Dolores was proud of her roots and heritage born in the “Crossroads of America”. As a young adult she moved to Hazlehurst, Mississippi, where she resided with her father prior to her marriage and then raising her family in the Vicksburg area. Dolores was devoted to her family and delighted in every moment spent with them. As the mother of young children she lovingly cared for her daughter and son, ensuring their health and happiness. As her children grew into adults she also became a true friend to each of them, imparting precious words of wisdom and affection as they made their way in the world. Dolores’ hobbies were often based in creative mediums. She had a keen interest in ceramics and crafted many beautiful works of art. Gifted with a “green thumb” she nurtured her house plants and the flowers she planted in her yard with the care of a meticulous gardener. Her passion extended into the kitchen where she created many favorite family recipes. Some of her favorite times were spent on the beach. Dolores found both peace and strength of soul while sinking her toes in the sand as the wind gently blew her hair. Perhaps Dolores will best be remembered for one simple trait: Love. Her love for family, friends, nature, and all life had to offer. She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Neuenfeld and Jennie B. Vickers Neuenfeld; and siblings, Pauline Drohn and Fred E. Neuenfeld. Survivors include her husband, Samuel “Sam” King; daughter, Melissa Neeley and husband Robert; son, Lance King; grandchildren, Blake Neeley, Ethan Neeley, and Samantha Neeley; brother, William G. Neuenfeld and wife Cindy; niece, Jenny Jessen; nephew, William E. “Bill” Neuenfeld; and long time friend, Joyce Hilliard.
