Earl Scallorn Jr.

Earl Lloyd Scallorn, Jr. of Braxton passed away on July 29, 2026, after fighting cancer for 9 months. Born on August 29, 1953 in Memphis, TN, he was the oldest of three children born to Earl and Patsy Ruth Scallorn.

On August 18, 1973, he married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Rieger Scallorn, and they had two sons, David Earl and Bryant.

Earl worked at MS Farm Bureau for 40 years and was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and in many other roles. He traveled with the Nail Bender group several times to build churches in other areas. He loved the Lord and always had a servant mindset. He also influenced many and left behind numerous friends.

A member of John P. Byrd Lodge No. 629, Earl has laid down his earthly working tools and was called to the Celestial Lodge above. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on December 20, 1974, and later became a member of the Wahabi Shrine. He was a beloved and faithful Brother throughout his Masonic journey.

Earl loved dirt track racing, Harley motorcycles and going to Sturgis. He enjoyed repairing automobiles and most any kind of motor, and he loved teaching teens the skill of auto mechanics.

His grandchildren, Zeke and AnnMarie, were his pride and joy, and he loved following them everywhere to watch whatever sport they were a part of. He especially enjoyed the Simpson Academy cross country team and Victors softball team. He also loved camping and traveling.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Scallorn and Patsy Ruth Howse Scallorn. He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Rieger Scallorn; sons, David Earl Scallorn (Lynn), and Bryant Scallorn (Mariann); grandchildren, AnnMarie Scallorn, and Zeke Scallorn; sister, Cheryl Branton (Mickey); and brother, Charles "Chuck" Scallorn.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 10:00am, Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the funeral home chapel with interment in the Mays Cemetery, Brandon.
