Visitation will be held 5:30-8:30pm, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 and 12:00-2:00pm Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
He was born December 5, 1929 in Warren County, Mississippi, a son of the late Wille Edwards and Alice Halford Edwards. A member of the Baptist faith, he served in the Merchant Marines and was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Shrine. His hobbies included bow hunting.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sue Edwards; daughter, Connie Kinley; son, Charles Johnson; sister, Theresa Irwin; brothers, Barry Edwards and Ray Edwards; 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
