Coach Eddie Ray was my favorite softball coach growing up. He taught us the importance of hard work and dedication, teamwork, the value of friendships and so many more life lessons. I was honored, privileged and blessed to have been under his wing for 4 years growing up in both league and tournament softball. I never told him the incredible impact he had on my life as an adolescent and teenager. His encouragement, wisdom and love he showed as a coach and father figure to all of his girls will be forever cherished and kept tightly locked in my heart. He surely was "one of kind." I've never met anyone like him. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with his daughters, Ashley and Jennifer, along with their family and closest friends during this time of reflection and mourning. I love you guys. Growing up with your dad as a mentor was truly a blessing. My heart goes out to all of you. God created an angel on Earth when he made your dad. Now, you'll have the best guardian angel watching over you and your family. God rest his sweet soul. Fly high, Coach! .... til we meet again...
