Pearl, MS
Edith Joyce Goodin Price, 88, of Pearl, MS. went to her heavenly home, Sunday, May 22nd, 2022. She lived on Joyce Street, named after her by her beloved husband, for over 60 years. The family will receive friends Friday, May 27th, 2022, from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Heritage Baptist Church in Byram, MS. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton, MS.
Joyce was born July 21st, 1933 in Crystal Springs, MS to Grant Goodin & Addie Haley Goodin Yarbrough. Joyce married Horace J. Price September 19th, 1959 and they had 3 children together. Joyce graduated from Central High School in Jackson, MS and later went on to graduate from Liberty Baptist University.
Joyce worked as secretary to the President of Deposit Guaranty National Bank, as well as with Horace’s HVAC business for many years. She then went on to teach and do secretarial work with Capital City Baptist Church which later became known as Heritage Baptist Church.
Joyce loved doing work in her home church. Her favorite things included singing, teaching Sunday school, flower arrangements and planning events for the church, such as mission conferences and old-fashioned days, and helping her husband with the Helping Hands Rescue Mission. Her most recent years were spent with family. Joyce loved being around her grandkids and great grandkids as well as her own children.
Those preceding her in death include her father, Grant Goodin, mother, Addie Haley Goodin Yarbrough, husband, Horace J. Price, sister, Annie Grace Campbell, son, Jonathan Gifford Price and grandson, Alan Jack Pinnow. She is survived by her son, Jerome Price (Kathy) of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Jennifer Price Gregory (Carlton) of Oxford, MS; Grandchildren, Stephanie Price of Amarillo, TX, Kayla Edwards (Trevor and son) of Oxford, MS, Victoria Henderson (Jason and daughter) of College Station, TX, Jacqueline Harley (Brian and children) of Amarillo, TX, Austan Price of Pearl, MS and Gracee Price of Pearl, MS.
