Edna L. Thornton

Visitation will be from 5-7pm Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery, Madison.

Mrs. Thornton was a member of Cleary Baptist Church and retired from Specialized Warehouse. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Some of her hobbies included gardening, puzzling, and playing dominoes. Her favorite pastime however was spending time with family, friends, and her church family. The love and joy of her life was her grandchildren and spending time with them and her grand dogs.

Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Thornton; parents, Walter and Rosie Stephens; brother, J.W. Stephens; and sisters, Mary Stephens and Katie Molstad.

She is survived by her sons, Mitchell Thornton (Heidi) and Gary Thornton both of Florence; daughter, Tricia Porter of Florence; sister, Virginia Meeker of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Holly Yoakum (Eric), Heather and Ashley Kate Thornton, Michael, Matt and Mackenzie Porter, and great grandchildren, Harlee and Ryleigh.
