February 28, 1939 – June 11, 2018
Elizabeth Ann Byrd, 79, passed from this life Monday, June 11, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Memorial services will follow at 6:00pm.
Elizabeth was born February 28, 1939, in Canton, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Lewis F. Jackson and Katherine Lavender Jackson.
Elizabeth worked in retail for several years with Gayfers and Dillards Department stores. A devoted fan of Elvis Presley, she loved all of his work, especially the gospel hymns he performed, which were so special to her Baptist faith. Elizabeth was a true animal lover, and enjoyed spending time with God’s creatures. She loved people, talking and laughing with friends, family, and pretty much anyone she encountered. The phrase, “Never met a stranger” aptly described her. Elizabeth will best be remembered for her infectious laugh and her love for life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William “Billy” Jackson.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, Sammy Byrd; sons, Gary Byrd, and Randy Byrd and wife Brandy; daughter, Deborah Pardo and husband Patrick; and grandsons so precious to her heart, Brandon and Sean Pardo.
Memorials may be made to the MS Animal Rescue League at www.msarl.org.
