A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS at 2 pm on Saturday July 7 2018.
Born Erna May Swanson in Grand Rapids, MI on 5/22/1924, she was raised in Vicksburg, MS by her aunt and uncle Hazel and George Bosma. She graduated from Carr Central High School in 1942 in Vicksburg, MS.
She married Rev. Hollis Landrum, Sr. in 1943. He was a member of the United Methodist Conference. Together they served several churches in the Jackson and Vicksburg area including Wells Memorial, Leavell Woods, Gibson Memorial, and First United Methodist Brandon.
On the death of her husband in 1990, she moved to Vicksburg to live with her oldest son, Hollis Landrum Jr, and daughter-in-law, Susan Landrum. They moved to Newnan, GA, in 2007.
To her friends and family, Erna was a Starbucks coffee fanatic who could out shop people half her age. She loved fancy fingernails, old movies, playing cards, watching NBA basketball, and interacting with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Hollis and Susan Landrum, Jr. of Newnan, GA, Judy and James Pierce of Byhalia, MS, Mary E. ‘Scooter’ and Bubba Brewster of Hot Springs, AR and Dr. William “Rip” and Louise Landrum of Peach Tree City, GA, as well as ten grandchildren, Jamie, Jana, Matthew, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Joy, Katherine, John, Jesse, and Daniel, and six great grandchildren.
