Born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on October 1, 1945, to Mr. E. B. Eldridge and Mrs. Thelma Sue Saxton Eldridge. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Craig will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by devotion, steady faith, and the kind of honest, hard-working character that quietly lifted everyone around him.
Craig attended and graduated from Yazoo City High School in 1963. From those early years forward, he carried himself with thoughtful purpose, meeting responsibilities with care, and offering compassion in ways that were felt more than spoken.
By trade, Craig was a self-employed contractor, known for dependable work and a straightforward integrity that earned trust. Whether on the job or at home, he approached life with diligence and a faithful commitment to doing what was right.
Craig met the love of his life, Ms. Elizabeth Pettigrew, and they were married on February 11, 1964. Together they built a family and were blessed with a daughter and son, anchoring their home in love, loyalty, and enduring devotion.
A member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl, Mississippi, Craig served as a deacon, living his faith with consistency and compassion. Outside of church and work, his adventurous spirit shone brightly restoring classic cars, enjoying drag races and motorcycles, and always keeping an eye out for the next adventure. He was Past President of the MS Corvette Club and loved camping in his RV, embracing the open road and the simple joy of time well spent. When not out doing the next adventure, you could find him spending time with his family.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Pettigrew Eldridge; son and daughter-in-law, Mike Eldridge (Sonia); daughter and son-in-law, Tracye K. Sisco (Shannon); granddaughters, Alison and Haley; grandson, Trey; great granddaughter, Kaliegh; and great grandsons, Bret, Lane, and Miles.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Wayne Eldridge, Gene Eldridge, Roger Eldridge, and Billy Eldridge.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi, on July 14, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
