Eunice Anne Hayes

November 28, 1958April 17, 2021

Anne Greene Hayes, 62, of Pearl, went peacefully home to Heaven on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

She was born November 28, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama, a daughter of the late McDuff Greene, Jr. and Eunice Craft Greene.

Anne’s meticulous nature and attention to detail served her well throughout her career with the State of Mississippi Department of Vital Records where she was a research assistant. Anne was a true servant of God, ministering and supporting others at every chance, and was a member of Grandview Baptist Church in Pearl. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Anne doted on her family. She took pride in her home and enjoyed decorating and making her home comfortable for those who gathered under her roof. In her spare time Anne enjoyed volunteering at the Big Fix Clinic, caring for her sweet porch cats and playing dominoes.

Anne’s favorite moments in life were spent with those who were dearest to her. The years she had with her beloved husband were precious memories for her. Spending time with her grandson and great-grandson were top priority for Anne, as were the long walks she and her daughter shared each day- laughing, talking, planning, and remembering.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl David Hayes. She is survived by daughter, Holli Hayes; grandson, Christian Hayes and fiancee Summer; great-grandson, Kohen David Hayes; best friend, Sandy Harrell; her feline companions, Tinkerbell, Joyful, Grouchie, Oz, Kringle, and Blackie Baby; and several nieces, great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Celebration of Remembrance Services will be held from 10:00am until 12:00pm, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Eastside Park Gazebo, 100 Furr Dr, Richland, MS 39218, followed by a time to eat and fellowship from 12:00pm until 3:00pm at Grandview Baptist Church, 900 S Pearson Rd., Pearl, MS 39208.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Pines Animal Shelter at www.southernpinesanimalshelter.org or to The Big Fix Clinic at https://www.msspan.org.

Following is a prayer written by Anne in 2020 which her daughter found on her bedside table following her passing: “Dearest God, glory to You for always loving no matter what we do. Your grace and mercy continually flow, strengthening our mind, body and soul. Your creation reflects Your awesome power, yet You humbled Yourself to what appeared Your weakest hour. It was Your strength, so great, that took every sin we could make and paid the price You did not owe because You are Love and You want the world to know.”

Dearest Holli and Christian,
My heart and prayers go out to you during this very difficult time. Auntie Anne was a blessing to me as I am most certain she was to you as well.
I will miss our long conversations on the phone about everything and nothing. She always had encouraging words to share.
She was kind, sincere and had the heart of a Saint.
She will be dearly missed.

Love and prayers, Adrian
