Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Monday, June 18, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 10:00am, Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in the funeral home chapel with interment in Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Brandon.
Mr. Jeffries was born July 23, 1934, in Brandon, a son of the late Jessie Lee Jeffries and Ezma Bell Smith Jeffries. He was a life-long resident of the Andrew Chapel community and Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church.
Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in which he served for 10 years. In the military he trained and became a weather service specialist. Following his retirement from the Air Force he became a meteorologist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/NOAA, where he enjoyed a thirty five year career prior to his retirement in 1997.
Mr. Jeffries was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. In recent years he liked to spend his free time reading.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jeffries was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Inez Jeffries; infant daughter, Anita Jeffries; daughter, Lanita Jeffries James; and sisters, Ramona Rasberry and Betty Rowell.
Survivors include son, Daniel Lee Jeffries and wife Tricia; daughter, Kimberly Phillips and husband Matt; brother, Danny Paul Jeffries and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Sheena James, Jessica Jeffries, Carlie Jeffries, Cody Hathcock and wife Shelby, G.G. Blough, Matthew Byrd, and Mackenzie Byrd; and great-grandchildren, Brantley and Brooklyn Hathcock.
