Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The funeral service will follow at 12:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Burial will take place at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Ellingburg. Musicians will be organist Beverly Abernathy and vocalist Rita Harris. Serving as pallbearers are Dustin Herrington, Russell Herrington, Randy Herrington, Johnie Herrington, David Hensarling, and Randy Stutts.
She was born on September 1, 1939 in Fairbanks, Louisiana to the late Julian Augustus Stutts and Annie Juwel Junther Stutts. She worked for several years as a secretary at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Mrs. Marsalis was a member of Paul Truitt Baptist Church in Pearl. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and was very good at it. She also could be found cheering on her favorite sports teams on the television, the New Orleans Saints being one of them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her dear husband, Walter Marsalis; daughter, Amy Scott; grandchildren, Jordan Lee and Julia Brown; great-grandchildren, Annabelle Lee, Emerson Lee, Silas Brown, and Lorelei Brown; and a number of beloved extended family members.
Mrs. Marsalis will be deeply missed by many.
