Ruthie was born in Helena Arkansas on April 18th,1955, to Floyd & Shirley Berry. After a couple
of years they moved to Water Valley Mississippi, and then to Jackson Mississippi where she
grew-up.
Ruthie was a woman of God, and grew-up going to Southgate Baptist Church in Jackson with
her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and later her children. Ruthie and her former husband Tom were married for 43 years. They both remained great friends & cared deeply for
each other.
Ruthie loved to go on vacations, and one of her many favorite places was Branson, Missouri. She
loved to see all of God’s beautiful creations. Her hobbies outside of her vacations were
spending time with her family and friends, crafting, solving word puzzles, working as a retail
manager, and going to flea markets. Although she wasn’t the best cook, she made the best
chocolate pancakes anyone could eat. She was well known for them. She would often be busy
in the kitchen satisfying everyone's tummies. She loved her family deeply and would do
anything for them. She was loved as well, and will be greatly missed by all of her family and
friends.
She was preceded in death by mother, Shirley Ann Goodnight Berry; father, Floyd Berry; two brothers, Anthony Wayne Berry Sr. and surviving wife Teresa Berry and Floyd Steven Berry; stepchild, Renee Cooper.
Ruthie is survived by her son, Thomas Albert Anderson, Jr. ; daughter, Tawana Ruth Cooper and husband Stewart Judson Cooper; 6 Grandchildren & 1 Grand daughter-in-law, Stewart Jordan Cooper, Judson Chase Cooper, Autumn Marie Cooper, Tala Alexanderia Anderson, Alan Lewis Anderson and wife Ryan, Claire Anderson, and Hailey Ruth Anderson; 2 Great Grandchildren, Jacota Lee Anderson and Audrey Elise Anderson; 2 younger Siblings, Sharon Irene Berry Neese and late husband Bill Newsome and Marcus Keith Berry and wife Michelle Marie Berry; 1 best friend/sister, Angel Garofalo Carnathan & husband Clarence Anthony “Tony” Carnathan; former husband of 43 years, Thomas Albert Anderson, Sr. ; 5 Step Children Lisa Crain, Debbie Makedon, Vickie Easterling, Penny Anderson Davis and Alisa Compton; 10 Step Grandchildren, Tonya Reeves, Carla Easterling, Elizabeth Easterling, Gabrelle Crain, Audrey Ruth, Pennie Clack, John Makedon, Michelle Turk, Steven Compton and Micheal Compton; 12 Step Great Grandchildren Caleb Reeves, Cooper Ruth, Mallory Ruth, Marie Renee Valentine, Kenlee Elizabeth Valentine, Sarah Bailey Valentine, Hunter Carlton Valentine, Chloe Turk, Halle Turk, Maverick Compton, Micheal Christoper Compton and Hazen Grey Compton; and 1 Step great-great grandchild Darsey Ellen Reeves.
